 fourth National Action Plan on Open Government (2018-2020), the Canadian Fe
 deral Chief Science Advisor released the Roadmap for Open Science in 2020. 
 The Roadmap aimed to promote a federal science culture that is &ldquo;open 
 by design and by default&rdquo;. The Health Canada Open Science Action Plan
  was released in the summer of 2021 and included eight action items aimed a
 t advancing the recommendations set forth by the Federal Roadmap. Action It
 em #7 states that, under the purview of the Chief Scientific Data Officer, 
 Health Canada&rsquo;s Office of the Chief Data Officer will implement FAIR 
 data principles by January 2025, including developing: an inventory of Heal
 th Canada&rsquo;s data holdings, standardized, machine actionable data mana
 gement plans, facilitating best practices in data governance and stewardshi
 p, promoting open data, and supporting data literacy. This session will pro
 vide participants with:\n\n
 An introduction to the Health Canada Office of the Chief Data Officer and i
 ts priorities\n	An overview of FAIR data principles\n
 How to publish open data\n
 An outline of how Health Canada is implementing FAIR data principles across
  the Department, and\n
 Practical examples of how others can integrate FAIR data into their own wor
 k\n\n
