 er embarked on its Data Governance journey supported by on-prem technologie
 s that were difficult to use and maintain. This resulted in low adoption ma
 rgins even after big investments in time and money to populate the differen
 t catalogs the platform required. We noticed that as the Data Strategy for 
 the company was advancing – with a shift to the cloud, the governance
  tool was left behind as it could not easily incorporate the new cloud-base
 d data sources, as well as the myriad of unstructured data that was being c
 reated.\n\nThis year we decided to also move our data governance to the clo
 ud, adopting Microsoft Purview. In 7 months we were able to incorporate int
 o the platform our diverse data sources metadata, including unstructured da
 ta living in our data lakes. The platform allowed us to also migrate data f
 rom our old tool using its API interfaces. Because of the added features an
 d reliance on AI technologies, we have been able to identify and classify m
 ost of our data and create a revised classification framework that allowed 
 us to take control of our data. As the platform advances and new features a
 re added, Purview allows us to improve the way we share data, analyze linea
 ge and govern all aspects of the data life cycle.\n
